FEBRUARY, 2021
Since ESU was founded in February, 2013, we normally have the ESU Annual Meeting and birthday party during this month. We review past and future projects, provide a Treasurer’s report and PARTY. Unfortunately, this is not a normal year so we will not be gathering to celebrate our organization’s eighth birthday.
Meanwhile, since we can’t hold a physical election, our current officers and directors have graciously agreed to serve until we can revert to our usual annual elections. They are Harriet P. Epstein, president; Al Barrett, vice president; Jan Chesne, treasurer, Susan Freeman, secretary. On the Board of Trustees are Catherine Campbell, Susan Guggenheim, Betty Hiroto, Rochelle Hochberg, Gail Kaplan, Linda McFarland, Tahereh Sheikholislam.
In another vein, remember those stories about coping with the pandemic you submitted to ESU in the spring of 2020? The Autry Museum has notified us it has accepted our submission to be part of the historic record of that time. Just imagine, historians in future generations will see how we seniors stayed healthy and busy during an epidemic when many around us were freaking out. Thanks to those who (anonymously) contributed their thoughts.
As more and more of us get Covid-19 vaccinations, let’s hope that our long pandemic nightmare will soon be over and we can meet again in Emeritus classrooms. And, hopefully, next year we can have a big bash for our birthday.
